A Night to Remember Liv at The Avenue VIP Launch

A Night to Remember at Liv at The Avenue, Blackpool.

As we took our seats in this amazing new nightlife attraction in Blackpool, I knew we were in for one of the most memorable nights out I can recall in a long time. Walking in and heading down the stairs into The Avenue took me straight back to my days frequenting the Blitz nightclub in London, and the Palace nightclub during the Hitman and Her days with Pete Waterman. Yet this felt thoroughly modern, with contemporary artists and a real buzz of energy running through the room. The stage sits right up close to the audience, so you can genuinely feel and touch the performers as they play.

At the heart of it all is Benny Boop, the venue’s hostess, She does it all: singing, dancing, entertaining, and she had the whole crowd captivated with one-liners that had everyone in stitches. She pulled people up to dance and perform alongside her supporting artists, Sha Sha & Blue Valentine every one of whom had genuinely incredible voices. In a room like The Avenue, the sound was nothing short of extraordinary. The dancers and performers Wish D Belle,Flyza Minnelli, Daddy Cool, Gorgeous Nili, Juicy JC, She and Her and the amazing HERHOUSE DJ Collective outstanding

The night also paid tribute to special VIP guest Basil Newby, who over thirty years ago opened one of the first gay-friendly nightclubs here in Blackpool, a lovely nod to the local nightlife history woven into the evening.

The crowd was clearly loving every minute of it, and it felt like a safe, welcoming space all night. The bar staff kept the drinks flowing at prices that won’t break the bank, and the atmosphere, the noise, the lighting, all of it stood shoulder to shoulder with the best nights I’ve had, in Blackpool or in London.

If you’re visiting Blackpool, this is an absolute must. My thanks to Pearl and the Management team at Liv at The Avenue for inviting me and trusting me to review this wonderful new venture. Here’s wishing it every success.
