We were kindly invited to see the Evolution of Magic that was held at the Paradise room Pleasure Beach Resort. Incredibly it is our very first time seeing this show not sure how or why but we were so pleased to be invited by Elizabeth and Craig. On arrival we were met by Charlotte who is also in the show and the effervescent Dominique.
The theatre itself is a large 3 story building with superb lighting and acoustics. Having never seen the show I had no idea what to expect. I would like to think I am quite good and spotting things and quickly figuring them out, how wrong was I.
Some things are probably not supposed to be figured out but left to your imagination to try and understand. The things that I did see left me completely confused like the rest of the audience. Some of the tricks can be described as sleight of hand but these were so much more.
My complete lack of understanding and gravity consistently being defied by incredible precision is best described as mind blowing. I did like the fact that some of the tricks were projected onto large screens as they were happening so you actually didn’t miss any hand movements and yet you still couldn’t see how it was being done. Quite a few illusions involved members of the audience who again left many asking questions of how did that happen. I did a short 25 minute video of the show that shows some of the incredible tricks and illusions but NOT all so you need to go and see the show. The Evolution of Magic is about to embark on a European tour but they are back in July at the Paradise room. After the show Elizabeth and Craig do a free meet and greet and you can have your picture taken with them. We really enjoyed the show, it is very well done, very slick and professional one of the top shows around and we are so happy and pleased that it’s here in Blackpool.
