Despite the heavy rain we decided on visiting this amazing Theme Park in Staffordshire. Within this post you will see it’s not all about riding ‘ White knuckle ‘ hardcore rides but elegant parks, listed buildings a Sealife Centre and a Dungeon..it even has CBeebies and crazy nutty 😉 wildlife 🐿️ as you will see.
We purchased Merlin passes last year and it enables you to visit Merlin owned attractions all over the UK including here In Blackpool and London plus 20% discount on food and drinks snd merchandise tremendously good value.
Do we arrived at Alton to light showers and ended up asking if there is an Ark in the area, but once soaked through to the skin you can’t get wetter than wet..! So we just carried on regardless.
Despite the excess rain fall it failed to dampen our spirits and we hit the the rides, we started with the Smiler and then onto Nemesis reborn and again we somehow managed to get the front rows, but pleasure soon turned into pain as the heavy rain hit our faces at incredible speeds and left us feeling like we had been slapped around the chops by a huge wet fish..🤣
We walked round some of the splendid grounds, it really is a beautiful place to visit despite the journey from Blackpool it’s always worth it.
Back to the rides and we went on to Rita just as the rain got heavier so we were looking forward to the pain of the rain hitting our faces.
A huge shout out to the Alton Towers team for making everyone feel welcome and happy despite them also being soaked to the skin. We decided on lunch at the Pizza restaurant and I think so did everyone else as it was busy with a Q to get in but it was worth it. When we finished the rain had stopped so we made our way to Whicker man. If you didn’t know this is a wooded coaster with some amazing sound and visual effects, just amazing.
We wandered around and did various rides..
We pooped into the Sealife Centre and stroked some Star Fish
We pooped into CBeebies land because Rebecca wanted to ride a ride in there and we couldn’t believe the wildlife 🐿️ in there 😂
We noticed this cheeky chap looking for food
Apparently I look like Mr Tumble 🙄
So we got donuts 🍩 thank you Rebecca and popped into Guest services to tell them that we had a wonderful day. They must have to deal with a few complaints over the day so we wanted to try and brighten things up for them..
We wished the car park lady with a hat a very Happy Birthday before heading back to Blackpool. I hope that you like this posting and clearly highlights how a Theme Park should be managed..
