80s Live currently on an extensive and very popular tour of the UK arrived In Blackpool, they are actually on tour until August 2024 . We went to see them perform last night at the Grand Theatre Blackpool. Billed as the best retro concert showcasing and performing hit songs from what I believe to be the best period of popular music and fashion the 1980s.
Before I start writing about the show if you are going to see it get your leg warmers and headbands and glow sticks out and put them on. I regret not going full 1980s fashion like many did but I was wearing my Duran Duran shirt and had a glow stick given to me by a lady from Leeds sat next to us.
80s Live the retro concert takes you back to a period of music when music really meant something, it still does today but in the 80s when many people living through hard times with mass unemployment music and fashion was so important to many. I don’t think that many will disagree with me in saying that it was probably the best era of popular music and fashion with so many amazing acts during that period trying to get that elusive Number One hit record. 80s Live Concert really does take you back to that period in time and reminds you of what was good and memorable it’s MUSIC.
As the show starts you are encouraged to take as many pictures and videos as you want and dance. This is is the first time I think that I have every heard this from a concert but as the show started I soon realised why, it’s because they are incredible performers, they can all sing and play their own instruments as well as perform brilliantly. The audience needs very little encouragement to get up and dance in their seats and in the aisles to these top performers.

A fantastic evening shame that it had to end and looking forward to seeing 80s Live next year when the show returns to Blackpool 😎
