Set in the period of his World acclaimed comeback tour of Las Vegas in the early 1970’s, it gives an autobiographical account of how Elvis despite his confidence problems decided on going back to his roots in performing live on stage and in doing so turning his back on lucrative film productions.
The first half gives a very interesting account into Elvis Aaron Presley’s life in a period were his fear of failure , his matrimonial problems and his drug habit is clearly there to see..
It is a wonderful insight into what he had to endure and obvious clear pressure from promoters for him to perform, it was what Elvis needed for him to resurrect his career after a 15 year absence.
It has lots of musical interaction as the story is superbly acted out..
The 2nd half of the show is dedicated to a full on Las Vegas style concert that had The Winter Gardens absolutely bouncing..!
Steve Michaels he plays Elvis is an incredibly talented Man and gives a very good performance..
At times I actually felt that I was watching the real Elvis, quite incredible..
This Is Elvis is running here in Blackpool until Saturday 10th..
