If summer had a soundtrack, it would sound a lot like Summer Holiday. Blackpool Grand Theatre has announced that the sun-drenched, joy-filled musical will take over the historic theatre from Wednesday 29 July to Saturday 8 August, bringing the ultimate feel-good escape to the heart of the seaside.
Following the huge success of last year’s Grease, produced with Pitlochry Festival Theatre and enjoyed by packed houses night after night, Summer Holiday The Musical is set to be the must-see show of the summer. Based on the much-loved 1963 film that made Cliff Richard a screen icon, the musical captures the irresistible thrill of adventure, friendship and freedom, all powered by a soundtrack that defined a generation.
Audiences can expect a joyous hit-filled evening featuring some of the biggest songs of the 1960s, including Summer Holiday, Bachelor Boy, Move It, Dancing Shoes, The Young Ones and In the Country. Bursting with energy, nostalgia and irresistible summer vibes, the show promises to have audiences singing along from start to finish.
