If Blackpool are going to perform a miracle and stave off relegation to Division One they need to win their games. Well today they did just that, not only did they win but nearly all the results went in their favour. Don’t get me wrong there is still so much to do but Blackpool are starting to show glimpses of their early season form that made them quite difficult to beat.
This was Blackpool’s favourite Stephen Dobbie’s first home game in charge of the Tangerine’s and the adoring Blackpool faithful made him aware of their feelings. After 3 minutes the ever trying and active Jerry Yates scored and Blackpool were unfortunate not to add to the score line with various players coming close. It was at times a very contentious affair with a certain Wigan forward receiving a bit of stick from supporters from the North stand and then went to complain to the officials but he must have failed to mention what he said to the fans or the hand gestures that provoked the incident in the first place. Injuries to Luke Garbutt and Ian Proveda created 9 extra minutes at the end and at times Blackpool did hang on but fully deserved the 3 points.
Our next game at home is Tuesday and play off chasing West Brom will grace the famous Bloomfield Rd pitch.. it will be a hard game but you never know football can be a strange game..🙏
