Blackpool Illuminations 2022 went off with a bang in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, with an impressive line up of internationally acclaimed rap star FUSE ODG, Mae Miller who has had multi billion streams. Our very own British singer Nina Nesbitt. The energetic singer songwriter Tom Grennan and one of the UK’s most successful recording artists of all time BLUE.
The Blackpool Tower Ballroom home of the Switch On for the last few years due to a certain Virus hosted this prestigious annual event. We hope that Visit Blackpool might consider returning to the Tower Headlands/Comedy Carpet for 2023 so that more people can experience the Blackpool Switch On . The event being strictly ticket only with it being beamed onto a large screen to watch the charismatic and flamboyant Blackpool’s adopted Son Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen flick the important switch to turn on the Blackpool Illuminations 2022. Lawrence very kindly stood in for the much loved comedian Jonny Vegas who unfortunately was not available to flick the lever. A huge thankyou to Lawrence for stepping in and a very worthy person to perform this task.

The view outside the Ballroom was also amazing, thank you to the thousands that came to support the 2022 Blackpool Illumination Switch On and hopefully it will be staged back outdoors on the big stage in 2023..
