Tram Upgrade Winter 2009 / 2010 LIB & BAM NUTTALL Exclusive
Update 22/02/10..
I was able to meet BAM NUTTALL representatives today and show readers of Live In Blackpool the work that’s involved in upgrading Blackpool’s tram transportation system on the Promenade.
I would also like to convey on behalf of Live In Blackpool our sincere gratitude to Mike the Project Manager and to Lenny for showing us around the site today.
I found the work involved in this upgrade to be absolutely fascinating and the skill of the Men will be evident for years to come..
I met up with Lenny..
He was able to show myself and Chris around the site
We did a walk through of the work that’s being carried out and the finished work is amazing..
Here are some finished pieces of the track..
Its a very complex procedure but what I understand is that the track itself is encased in a rubber compound and laid on a very durable strong layer of concrete and then the finishing black concrete is laid on top of that.
Now there are more technical terms and its more involved but I am sure you understand what I am trying to say.. :-[
One things for certain though that the tram ride itself will be very smooth affair..
