Sad death of football legend Harry Gregg
Joan Humble, Chair of Blackpool Civic Trust, today expressed her condolences to the family of Harry Gregg, former goal keeper at Manchester United.
Mrs Humble spoke of her thanks to Harry Gregg who came to Blackpool on 17th September, 2018 to unveil a Blue Plaque to former England and Manchester City goal keeper, Frank Swift. Frank Swift was born in Blackpool and was one of the casualties of the Munich plane crash. Harry Gregg spoke eloquently of Frank as a man and as a footballer.
“We were very pleased that Harry Gregg came to Blackpool to acknowledge our home grown football star. Harry spoke with passion about their shared love of football and unveiled the new Blue Plaque to celebrate Frank Swift’s upbringing in Revoe and his footballing achievements.”
